Sabian Symbols are a poetic spectrum of intuitive beauty. Developed by Marc Edmund Jones and Elsie Wheeler in 1925, they are 360 phrases that symbolize each degree of the zodiac signs. Jones was an astrologer and a spiritualist who wanted to find words to individualize the signs more specifically. He teamed up with Wheeler, a clairvoyant in San Diego at Balboa Park. Blank note cards were made with only the sign and the degree written small on one side. They were shuffled many times between interpretation. Written by Edmund, “One card was put face down before the medium, and she reported on the picture she saw by inward vision. This was noted hurriedly in pencil on the card itself.” Even though it was only an “experiment”, these two manifested what became another significant step in astrological awakening and its “ancient mind matrix”.  I find sabian symbols to be continually mystifying and fascinating.  Below are the astrology degrees and their symbols.
